Application Process

Online Scenario Questions
For most roles, before completing the online application form you will be asked to complete a series of scenario questions based around the role you have applied for. If you do not meet the requirements, your application will not be taken any further at this time.
Online Application
Once you have submitted your application form we will review and check that you meet the requirements for your chosen role. We will also be checking your application form for accuracy - so check all your spelling and grammar before you submit.

An outcome to your initial application will normally be sent within one week.
Telephone Interview
If you pass the initial selection process you will be asked to complete a competency based telephone interview for most of our roles. To arrange a telephone interview please contact the relevant team listed below between 8:30 am and 6:00pm Monday to Friday so that we can arrange a mutually convenient time to conduct the interview:
  • for Branch positions including Customer Service and Personal Banking Advisors, Sales and Specialist roles within the Branch and Regional Network, Branch Support, Secretarial and Management roles the Resourcing team on 0870 8509 142
  • for all Contact Centre (including Sales, Service and Collections), Operations, Head Office and Central Functions the Resourcing team on 0870 414 9080

The interview will last approximately 20 minutes and gives you the chance to demonstrate to us that you have some of the key skills that we believe are fundamental to success at Santander.

An outcome to your telephone interview will be sent within one week.
Short-listing
If you pass the initial selection process or phone interview, your application will be submitted to the Recruiting Business Partner for review for short-listing. You are not guaranteed a face-to-face interview but we will advise you accordingly.
Short-listing can take up to 4-6 weeks.

Once you have successfully completed the above stages you will be invited to either a face-to-face interview or an assessment day, which will include some formal assessment of your skills and competencies.
Offer
If you are successful you will be made a verbal offer of a position, subject to you meeting our Fraud, Credit and Referencing checks.
Start Date
Depending on the role you have applied for, you may be offered an imminent start date.
