Santander Privacy Statement
We are Santander UK plc, the Data Controller. You can contact our Data Protection Officer (DPO) at 201 Grafton Gate East, Milton Keynes, MK9 1AN if you have any questions.
This is our Privacy Statement which explains how in relation to the Santander recruitment website (santanderjobs.co.uk) we obtain, use and keep your personal data safe.
Your personal data is data which by itself or with other data available to us can be used to identify you.
We're committed to keeping your personal information safe in accordance with all applicable data protection laws.
The types of personal data we collect and use
The types of personal data we capture and use will depend on your activities, including any information you share, on the website. No personal data is collected by just browsing the site and searching for jobs. We will only collect personal data if you register for E-mail Job Alerts.
We’ll only use your personal data for some or all of the reasons set out in this Privacy Statement. Some of the information relevant to that is included in this Privacy Statement for consistency. Examples of the personal data we use in relation to our websites may include:
- E-mail address (e.g. to allow us to send you scheduled alerts when new roles are posted that meet your search criteria, where you have asked us to send you those alerts);
Providing your personal data
We’ll tell you if providing some personal data is optional, including if we ask for your consent to process it.
Using your personal data: the legal basis and purposes
We’ll process your personal data as necessary to perform the function of supplying job alerts to you for the requested period of time only with your prior consent, i.e. where you have consented to us sending you e-mail alerts of vacancies that meet your criteria;
You’re free at any time to change your mind and withdraw your consent. The consequence might be that we can’t do certain things for you. (E.g. unsubscribing from the E-mail Job Alerts feature will mean you don’t receive future alerts for new roles that meet your specified criteria);
We may also process your personal data to allow us to comply with legal obligations imposed on us, e.g., When you exercise your rights under data protection law and make requests, and or where we are required, to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation, to process your personal data;
If your Job Alert subscription expires without being renewed or extended by yourself we will delete your data within 24hrs.
Sharing of your personal data
Subject to applicable data protection law we may share your personal data only where necessary, with:
- The Santander group of companies* and associated companies in which we have shareholdings;
- Contractors who help us operate and maintain the Santanderjobs website and e-mail alert system;
