Hosted by members of the Santander Emerging Talent Team and senior members of Santander’s Technology & Operations and Financial Crime business areas, Santander was delighted to welcome local careers service professionals to a bespoke event in the MK office.
Sarah Oswald, Senior Programme Manager from BPP, Santander’s Apprenticeship Training Partner, gave an overview of the apprenticeship landscape. This was followed by presentations from Lucy Bavington (Service Manager, Technology & Operations) and Sarah Preston (Team Manager, Financial Crime Apprenticeship Programme) who spoke about their business areas bringing to life the fascinating aspects of what each of their functions is responsible for. Each explained that Santander look for potential, and encouraged the message that students will have a great experience with Santander, the key ingredient in successful apprentices being personality and passion.
The event closed with an apprentice Q&A where current apprentices discussed their own journeys into the business. The event was a great success and more opportunities to engage with careers service professionals are planned in the coming months.
